Assessment of Urban Air Quality using Geo Spatial Techniques for Sustainable Development: Case of Tirupur, India

<p>Rapid urbanisation, industrialization, and population growth have fostered an urgent need for a green, clean-living environment. Among the many pollutants, gaseous pollutants like NO2, SO2, particle PM 2.5 10 profound negative impact on human health. In this investigation, samples of air 2.5, were taken at ten different sites inside Tirupur corporation boundaries. For locations into consideration, Air Quality Index has been calculated using Central Pollution Control Board's model. Utilizing inverse weighted distance (IDW), these data are interpolated integrated geographic information system (GIS). It was discovered that level secondary industries density automobiles had substantial quality. Results indicate concentrations in new bus stop RakkiyapalayamPirivu 113.7 mg/m3 134.73 mg/m3, respectively, which comparatively higher than permitted specified IS 5182. The areas with most vehicular traffic industry include location RakkiyapalayamPirivu. Thus, main sources pollution study region increase automobile industrial development. A clear indication area where concentration is high provided by integrating pollutant systems, enables local government agencies to conduct in-depth environmental evaluations. This aids planners their decision-making sustainable development.</p>
